Meeting
September 24, 2007
Our next meeting will be at 6:45PM at
the MAAC
Charter School at 1385 Third Ave. (between Palomar and Quintard, east side of
street) on MONDAY. If you haven’t returned survey from
last month please do so.. The city is getting serious about starting this
planning process and have hired a consultant. We want the community’s views to
be known AND ACTED UPON!!
We will have Councilman Rudy Ramirez,
who will give a report about his first six months in office and listen to
people’s feedback and comments.
Councilman Ramirez and Norberto
Salazar and Steve Palma from our board attended a conference in Indianapolis
about ways communities can revitalize themselves. They will give a report.
Assistant Manager Scott Tulloch and
Nancy Lytle will give a presentation about Community
Strenthening strategies and how
people can get involved in the planning process.
Redevelopment Areas in Chula Vista We will have a large map with streets at meeting.
Bayvista Walk (Pumpkin Patch) I still have not
received the promised responses to my comments on the environmental document
for this project. This is an excellent example of how the input of the
community is routinely ignored by the city’s planners. I am inclined to think
that we should take a stand here and demand the project stops.
They actually had the developer pay a
planner to do a plan for the entire Palomar Gateway area-both sides of Palomar
to Anita on the south from I-5 to just passed Industrial on the east with no public involvement. Now the city expects us to believe
they care what the public wants????
Infrastructure
City engineer asks that all potholes be reported to 397-6000.
Mud, Dirt or Sewage in
Street?
CALL: Christina Arias (858) 627-3931, carias@waterboards.ca.gov. She
works for the Regional Water Quality Review Board. CALL and take pictures. Enough
complaints WILL get action. The city can’t ignore the state.
Mobile Home and Trailer Park
News
The Mobile Home Park Ordinance
amendment has been put on hold while staff researches some new suggestions. If you
have a creative solution, please tell them. We need to do surveys of all the
parks and make our views clear to elected officials. It would be a good idea to
form an association at your park if there is not one yet and to do survey so
that decision makers will start to see the park as a collection of individuals.
