Our next meeting will be at 6:45PM at
the MAAC
Charter School at 1385 Third Ave. (between Palomar and Quintard, east side of
street) on MONDAY. This will be a community meeting of
all three community groups-SWCVCA, Northwest Civic Association and Crossroads II with City
Manager David Garcia and several budget staff to discuss the proposed
cuts to balance the city’s budget, which has a deficit of over 7 million
dollars! He is giving the community a chance to express their opinions about
closing a fire station, closing the
libraries one day a week, and cutting 40 or more staff positions. THIS IS YOUR CHANCE TO TELL HIM WHAT CAN NOT BE CUT. The council will have a workshop
on November 1 to discuss the cuts and vote on them by the 15th
of November.

character and quality of life.
