Meeting August 27, 2007

Our next meeting will be at 6:45PM at the MAAC Charter School at 1385 Third Ave. (between Palomar and Quintard, east side of street) on MONDAY.  We will go over the survey included in this mailing and actually fill it out at the meeting, if you don’t choose to mail it in. If you can’t make the meeting please mail it to us. The city is getting serious about starting this planning process and have hired a consultant. We want the community’s views to be known AND ACTED UPON!!

We will have Ken Grimes from the Center for Policy Initiatives who will talk about ways S.D. community sought to get benefits from Petco Park redevelopment process. Hopefully he will bring a staff person who lives in a mobile home to discuss possible impacts as well.

At 8PM Congressman Filner will join us and speak about Redevelopment, Community Planning Groups and Mobile Home Park issues. He will answer questions.

Bayvista Walk (Palomar between Frontage and Industrial) The environmental document is completely inadequate. There is no mitigation and no fee for improvements to deal with traffic problems in this area. The city’s own figures show that this stretch of road is now operating at F. This is a violation of Cummings and according to CV ordinance funds MUST be found to widen bridge and ramps or project be delayed. We need to demand that this happens. We may also need to start raising funds to sue, if necessary to assure that this happens.

Infrastructure

City engineer asks that all potholes be reported to 397-6000.

Mud, Dirt or Sewage in Street?

CALL:  Christina Arias (858) 627-3931, carias@waterboards.ca.gov. She works for the Regional Water Quality Review Board. CALL and take pictures. Enough complaints WILL get action. The city can’t ignore the state.

stronger Mobile Home Park Closure Ordinance than city staff is proposing.
