Minutes of February 13, 2011 Board Meeting

Call to order at 2:05

Roll call: Bettie, Ruth, Earl, Jim, David, Doc, Theresa

Guest: Leilani Hines from the city of Chula Vista to present future opportunities and plan for affordable housing.

1. Motion to approve minutes made by Jim, second by Bettie...approved

2. Should we share our mailing list for public benefit causes? After discussion, the board made a unanimous decision to continue to forward announcements to members but NOT share personal information.

3. The housing department has put together a plan to generate affordable housing for the next few years. With many projects in the Southwest area and the Eastern area, the focus now is in the Northwest area of Chula Vista.

4. Some details: The general area chosen is from E to H Street and from the trolley to 3^rd avenue. City is looking for a site large enough for 40 units or more. City has chosen 4 developers to work with including two for profit, and two non-profit. Alternative financing methods may be included in plans.

5. Motion made by David, second by Jim to have our monthly meeting on its usual 4^th Monday. Motion passed with comment that vice president Doc Howard will open the meeting. Guests will be Roxana Kennedy and Pat Aguilar.
