Discussed
October meeting-City Manager budget report could have an hour or more because
owners of MMS Energy only wanted to answer questions about the new peaker
plant. Bettie volunteered to help Theresa inform near-by residents and get
signatures and contact information so they can be alerted about 11/20 meeting
to be held by CEC
4.
Discussed
membership 1. Trial membership without dues until January when all memberships
expire and people will be asked to renew. It is a donation so whatever people
want to pay,. Need a system to keep track of categories of membership for grant
information and to show we represent a cross-section-Kenn and Theresa agreed to
donate difference if necessary:
Suggested Donations: low income and seniors $5, students $5,
associate $5, regular $10, businesses $25 scholarship 0$ but commitment to help
certain number of hours per month. We will discuss this in January with total
membership.
It was suggested a
spreadsheet be used to keep track of memberships and donations. We need to
start giving people writen receipt when we get number from IRS if not sooner.
(Also treasurer needs a more accurate accounting than what she now receives.)
Theresa promised to supply a monthly budget from January with copies of
receipts before the end of the year.
5.
Kenn
and Norberto volunteered to call our contacts and remind them to come to
meeting.
6.
Annual Meeting. The bylaws say it will be
held on the Third Thursday in January 1/17/08. purpose of the meeting should be
to conduct another survey, get members signed up and vote on directors. We will
see if members have an interest in having a pot-luck, or finger foods, or pizza
and salad for a social gathering. Norberto will prepare a form for nominating
people to be on the board. Theresa will mention at Oct. and Nov. meetings.
Current members will run again (although several would rather others take over),
nominations will be taken from the floor in Jan. Theresa will write up
something about each candidate for Jan. newslatter. Theresa will prepare a year
end report to be distributed in Jan.
