Meeting July 23, 2007
Our next
meeting will be at 6:45PM at the MAAC Charter School at 1385 Third Ave.
(between Palomar and Quintard, east side of street) on MONDAY. After
hearing the presentation last month it became clear that we needed to tell the
other side and clarify some of the information presented. Come find out how
redevelopment operates statewide and what we need to look out for in Chula
Vista.
Redevelopment
areas in Chula Vista
The
Environmental Health Coalition will present information about the Community
Benefits Plan that Pacifica Development has signed as a condition for approval
of their 1500 residential units on the Bayfront.
At the last
meeting people made it clear that the traffic situation on Palomar must be
improved before any more development is allowed. THE CITY LISTENED. The project
is being reevaluated. From what we have found out so far it appears the city’s
own figures show that this stretch of road is now operating at F. This is a
violation of Cummings and according to CV ordinance funds MUST be found to widen
bridge and ramps. We need to demand that this happens.
Infrastructure
City
engineer asks that all potholes be reported to
397-6000.

Regional Water Quality Review Board. PLEASE call and take pictures. Enough
complaints WILL get action.
Mobile Home and Trailer Park News
Residents
need to sign petition and go to meetings to ask commissioners to support a stronger
Mobile Home Park Closure Ordinance than city staff is proposing. (Market value
for mobile homes/trailers and longer higher rental assistance to aid relocation
need to be in ordinance.) This is like insurance. Hopefully no one will need
this in the future, but it is important it is in place just in case. Housing
